Inspired by Vasarely, of course, these frames are the absolute and reverent tribute of our designers to this immense artist. Here, abstraction is the reigning mistress of the house.
No collages, but machining outputs to counteract, and ultimately release the forms. Two veneers of materials – and the differences in these veneers – give birth, through transparencies and opacities, to forms in depth. Light passes, crosses, synthesizes color, creates geometries and optical illusions.
The very graphic branches, too, reveal secret ornaments, offer a double language, that of intimacy versus exteriority. The opaque and smoky shades, cloudy, powdery, elegant, allow the materials to vibrate, creating false perspectives and glaze effects.
Optical art, optical effects, fragmentation of shapes and lines: this concept is made to attract the eye, create confusion. The exploration of reliefs and reflections borrows from Joseph Albers or Van Doesburg. Each frame of the VASARELA concept is the expression of our love of Art, of our historic desire to always delimit space and flirt with emptiness.
