MAP

This year, Anne&Valentin presents MAP, a concept inspired by the previous Limited Edition, the innovative approach of which has been successfully tried and tested, opening the way to new possibilities, before becoming available in the Collection. The models in MAP have been dreamt up from the EDITION N°1 collector frames, in more measured versions of shapes and sizes, and in more direct colors. Our desire to further explore the sign, and its prosperous period during and after the Viennese Secession, is at the source of these models which pay tribute to the leaders of the Decorative Arts: Klee, Kandinsky and Klimt cultivated a new and evocative language, whether artistic, architectural or pictorial. Optical illusions, vanishing lines, graphics, counterpoints, delimitation of space, floor plans, playing grounds… Collages allow for transparencies, layers and contrasts of materials to create glazing effects. Sculpted, wired double-bridges, with criss-crossings of architectural lines; ultra-geometry, reinforced by the resins that mark the design; engravings of the end pieces specific to each model; deployment of perspectives; signaling with pointers; a resin patch engraved on the tip of the arm … Here, the sign and the object reign supreme. The MAP models harbor details that give them each a story of their own. Their finesse and complexity offer different levels of reading to these frames, able to transcend their references and exist in their time.
