The second part of our limited editions take root in the crossing of lines, sinuous paths traced through thicknesses created with state-of-the-art chemical cutting of metal and acetate. Airy transparency breathes through the opaque.
The time-honored tradition of labyrinths is the inspiration behind these interwoven intricacies. Drawn like gardens planted to bypass obstacles, initiatory models, rare in quantity, rare in design.
Three basic shapes in this concept play with three colors. The idea is to privilege work on the line to leave room for an interplay of presence and transparence, space for colors to be fully expressed.
The metal is partially painted for fluid connections and defined breaks.
Thus constructed, the labyrinthine weave gives free rein to design with a grip on material while toying with all the constraints. The Editions II are the result of experiments carried out in the Studio by our designers in order to restore colors to transparency, emphatically. These frames push boundaries while testing research in cutting and chromies, venturing further still in the use of a structured double-bar, integrated in the drawing of the frame, thinner than the bridge itself.
In the center of the labyrinth lies the eye. These are collection pieces, strong and ultra-expressive models. The arms end with an engraved metal insert, placed under resin.
To enrich this second part of the Editions, offered in very limited numbers, Anne&Valentin has also attached to each of the models a solar shades version that reveals another language and allows the peaks and troughs of the object to exist in all their excess.
